Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a 2022 action-adventure film based on the video game franchise published by Sega. It is the sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog (2020), and was directed by Jeff Fowler and written by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington.
It stars Ben Schwartz reprising his role as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog, alongside James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Lee Majdoub, Idris Elba and Jim Carrey.
After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove that he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns with a new partner, Knuckles, in search of a mystical emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations.
Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
